Keepit Privacy Policy
Keepit is made by Old Guard Technology (Canada). This policy explains what data Keepit handles — which is easy, because we designed the app so that we never see your data at all.
The short version
- Your receipts, photos, tasks, and reminders are stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account. They never touch our servers — we don't have any servers.
- We do not collect, sell, or share any personal information.
- We cannot see, access, or recover your data. Only you can.
Your data
Everything you put into Keepit — receipt photos, purchase details, warranty dates, home maintenance tasks — is stored locally on your device and synced through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) using your own Apple Account. This sync is between your device and Apple; Old Guard Technology is not in the middle and has no access to it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Receipt text recognition (reading the store name, date, and total from a photo) happens entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Vision framework. Receipt images are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. No notification data leaves your phone.
Purchases
Keepit Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, to validate purchases. This means RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated app-user ID and purchase information (product, price, date). It does not receive your name, email, Apple ID, or any of your receipts or tasks. RevenueCat's handling of this data is described in their privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no sign-up, no email collection
- No analytics or tracking SDKs
- No advertising
- No selling or sharing of data — we have nothing to sell
Data deletion
Deleting the app removes its local data. To remove synced data from iCloud, delete the app's iCloud data via iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, or delete all items in the app before uninstalling. Because we hold no copies, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
Keepit is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
